The Full Story

Training Turned Profitable

MiLo and Snak hit the road, venturing deep into the Olympic Forest to visit High Steel Bridge for some FPV training. While MiLo unpacked and set up the gear, Snak pulled interference by keeping a curious group of Indian tourists entertained. What started as a few quick photo requests from Haj (red sweatshirt) soon snowballed—those “quick shots” turned into a full-blown TDVG production!

High Steel Bridge

Perched high up in the sky, deep inside the Olympic Mountains on National Forest Service road #2340 in Mason County, Washington and stretching over the South Fork of the Skokomish River, High Steel Bridge ranks among the tallest bridges in the U.S. It offers breathtaking views, making it a favorite spot for cinematic photography—and a thrilling playground for drone pilots. Though its height can feel intimidating, the bridge stands “only” 325 feet tall, roughly the equivalent of a 33-story drop. No worries for the DJI Avata 2 FPV drone in the TDVG inventory, which handles the challenge with ease.

Originally constructed in 1929 for logging, High Steel Bridge is now a historic steel arch truss bridge still serving as a roadway. Renowned for its dramatic drop to the river below, it’s a prime spot for an occasional drone safari. Naturally, it’s a must-visit—TDVG will be returning soon for another full-throttle FPV adventure.

"That span needs a power loop!"
